Kitchen renovations
Layouts that cook the way you actually live, millwork that lasts, and a room that still belongs to the rest of the house. Condo kitchens included — same communication, same finish standard.

Renovations and additions in Cobourg and Durham Region.
Farwes renovates the house you already live in. Kitchens, basements, additions, and whole-home work that feels original — not bolted on. One local team from drawings through permits, millwork, and the final walkthrough.
Work we have already done
Renovations Farwes has already built into the house.
Farwes Homes Ltd. is a family design-build builder in Cobourg, Ontario. Since 1985 we have renovated bathrooms, fireplaces, millwork, and whole rooms, and we have added onto houses across Northumberland County, Durham Region, and the Kawartha Lakes. The photos below are Farwes jobs — finish work and the structure underneath. Not catalogue rooms.
If you need a bathroom, a fireplace, an addition, a basement, or a whole-home renovation in Cobourg, Port Hope, Grafton, Brighton, Bowmanville, or Oshawa, this is the team that stays on the file from drawings through waterproofing, framing, millwork, and the final walkthrough.
What Farwes renovates
Kitchens, basements, additions, and millwork with one Cobourg team.
A renovation should not mean a kitchen company, a basement contractor, and a millworker who never meet. Farwes walks the house with you, turns how you live into drawings you can price, and files what the township needs before walls come down. Framing, mechanicals, millwork, and finish are scheduled as one job so the house does not go quiet for weeks.
That is design-build renovation: one project manager from the first consultation through handover. We take on kitchens, basements, additions, whole-home work, and finish that matches the home you already live in — in Cobourg, Port Hope, Grafton, Brighton, Bowmanville, Oshawa, and the Kawartha Lakes.
Additions that belong
New rooms, extra storeys, and lifted structures planned so the addition reads as original. Grade, setbacks, and the existing roof line come first. Then the rooms inside.
Basements
Finished lower levels with proper ceiling height, light, and millwork — not a leftover room under the stairs. Same project manager as the rest of the house.
Whole-home work
More than one room at a time. Floors, openings, kitchens, and living spaces sequenced so you are not living in a construction site with no end date.
Millwork and finish
Built-ins, trim, and materials chosen to match the house you already own. The goal is original, not a showroom dropped into a 1980s bungalow.
Live in the house
Site care, a clear sequence, and one number to call. Salons, condos, and family homes all need the job to finish on time so you can use the room again.
Walk the house first
Bring photos, a floor plan, or just the idea. We walk the rooms, talk through how you live, and tell you honestly whether it is a Farwes job before drawings begin.
Design-build, one contract
Architectural design, township permits, and construction stay with Farwes Homes Ltd. You are not coordinating a kitchen company in one town and a builder in another.
Built here since 1985
The shop is in Cobourg. Four decades of family building. Northumberland County, Durham Region, and the Kawartha Lakes are the working radius — not a sales territory we visit twice a month.

Matt of Farwes Homes installed a drainage system on both sides of our property. Despite the heat wave the job was completed as planned. Matt and his crew were a pleasure to work with.
